Grading Policies and Weights
Tests - 60%
All tests are announced in advance and posted on the homework board in the classroom. Test review worksheets are given as homework assignments prior to the test.
Quizzes - 35%
Quizzes are typically announced and posted on the homework board.
Projects, journals, and looking backs may also be assigned throughout the marking period.
Journals are writing tasks that are assigned and collected during class. The topics are related to the content being studied and mathematics.
Looking Backs are assignments that assess knowledge of prior concepts taught.
If you are in school on the day of an assessment you are expected to take the quiz/test unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Homework - 5%
Homework is checked at the beginning of class. If you arrive late without an excused pass the homework will not be accepted for credit. If you are absent, you have an equal number of days to your absence to make up the homework. Late homework will not be accepted for credit.
